Are there known issues with Pixel Mapping on Windows 10 Nomad

I bet you didn't run the Pixelmap Installer?

The pixel map installer included on the Nomad Install USB is the progress bar that is hanging, I can't get it to actually install. I checked online and there doesn't seem to be a later version to try.

ah, maybe try downloading the same same installer (current Version is 1.0.1) again, in case the file was corrupted

Just gave that a shot, but same issue.

Progress bar shows up right near the start and doesn't budge at all from there.

Are you the administrator on your machine? Can you try running the installer as an administrator (right click installer, run as admin)? It seems it can't write the support files on your machine at all.

I'm logged in as an admin and it popped up a UAC screen - I approved and it loaded up to there.

I didn't specifically try to run as admin, but will give that a go when I'm sitting in front of it tomorrow.

Just ran as admin and left for over an hour, still no movement on the progress bar.

If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to try running the installer as admin immediately after doing a reboot before anything gets to run on the machine and lock any resources. If you've got anything that auto starts on boot try to set it not to. Also if that fails try temporarily turning off any virus scanner while you run the install as they do sometimes - but do make sure to switch it back on immediately afterwards.

I've tried immediately on a reboot without success, and its a fairly clean windows install without AV other than windows defender. When I'm sitting at it next I'll try and run it again as lean as I can get it and see if it makes a difference.

I'm not sure what dependancies the pixel map installer tries to install but I'm thinking it might be hanging while it's trying to do something in the background - but of course with it all being silent I've got no clue what that could be.

Just gave it another shot and no luck, just system tasks on boot with AV disabled and didn't get any further.

Managed to get it figured out! My backup software was interfering with the install, even though I had it set to not auto start on startup. Once i uninstalled that, everything ran as expected.

Massive thanks to all those who jumped in and got me pointing in the right direction!
