If you use automark, but also have a few cues that use follow or hang, the moving lights in those cues will not be properly marked. I cannot mark a cue manually when automark is on. I would like to see this restriction removed.
This way you can choose to mark for a certain cue earlier (in a not-so solent part of the show for instance) or overcome the problem I describe above.
can you describe a bit more detailed what the problem with Follow/Hand and automark is?
When the time between the two cues is too short, fixtures are not ready marking when they fade in.
but that has nothing to do with automark not working or being bad. just with referenced marking you have to manage the marking also with automark when timing is tight. discrete times are your friend.
Giving a +1 on that. I think, it would be useful to have the option to move the mark instruction manually when auto mark is turned on. I know it is possible to disable automark, but thats not a practical way in the middle of programming.
I know the workarounds. And you are fully right. The solution in moving the mark to an earlier cue could be good for more then this reason as I wrote in my original post
I would suggest using auto mark durning tech and programming and once you are mostly done turn it off. This will convert all the auto marks to normal marks and you can adjust where you want specific items marking at that point.
Thanks for the workaround!
