uhm, you can do all of those things. having a fader as an encoder replacement is not optimal because with an Eos sub you can only set what the top end of a fader means, not what the lower position means, so you will need another way of setting the bottom position (background value), but it can be done as well

set whatever parameters you need, and selectively record only those to the submaster.

this will record ONLY that data into the sub, and won't take control of any data from other sources.

Intensity and colour will be on the monitor, bottom left corner where the CIA pops up.

I've also done this for IQs as followspots: record 1 submaster for intenisty only, record another sub as Focus point L (record focus sub 2 enter). Record Focus point Right as sub 3.

push sub 1 and 2 up, unit will live move into place.  fade in sub 3, unit will proportinally move to the Right Focus Point.  Bring sub 3 down, and the fixture will move back to FP 2.
