Offline editors console mimic

Given that people have different desk models could it be a good idea to have a 'Full Console' for each type of desk face-panel in the console mimic - Could help when people are learning about their desk and where they find things offline.

Particularly thinking of the congo . Might be nice.

  • Hear Hear!    That's my favorite feature on Expression offline...........The fact that the software looks and behaves exactly like the genuine article.

It's great to have the confidance of knowing that anything you put into the offline software, you can take to the bank.  It will work in the real physical desk as simulated 99.8 times out of 100!   And the fact that the virtual console buttons, leds, and faders on screen can be setup exactly like the ones on any desk in the exp-family is increadibly helpful not only for learning the console, but also as a teaching aid. I routinely use Eol to teach my students basic lighting console programing concepts as well as how to use an expression desk in perticular. I have each student download a copy of the Exp3 manual and install Eol on their laptops, as practically all of our exercises and assignments are done as if they had a real console in front of them.  This experiance is most helpful in teaching them to make their programs compact, flexible, and neet, so that when they eventually run their projects on the real desk in our auditorium and begin focusing, they'll be able to keep the wasted time to a minimum.

Gosh, how I wish I could have had the chance to play around with a virtual console at home, for free, back when I was learning this stuff!
