thru-on function

There are a few lighting desks (Strand, Compulite) that have a thru-on function, which makes just the channels with a value above zero active when you type a range. This could be a great addition to the already valuable "Flexi Active" page

When in a cue with channels 1, 18 though 26 and 101 at a level and everything else at zero you could type:

[1][shift][THRU][1][0][1][wheel]

to add a few percent to just those channels that already have a value, without touching the channels that just went to zero in the live cue when in Flexi Active.

[shift][THRU] would read as "thru-on" on the command line

  • Then you switch consoles new key strokes are always going to feel slower then your normal console, this is because you need to think about the syntax. I worked on a strand for over 10 years and if I then back to that console Thru On would feel wrong and slow after 6-7 years on Eos.

Every effort is made on Ion to make it as quick as possible but this can't be at the decrement of the higher end consoles, this is why a lot of people invest in some form of x-keys.

Thru Thru is already a valid syntax to select channels out of your current flexi state.
