GIO remote start up

This is for anyone looking for a method of remote starting their console.

If you can't tell from the photo, it is solenoid mounted to a small piece of angle bracket.  A control cable (18/2) is ran from the booth approximately 200' to a closet on stage right.  The wire terminates to a 15V DC wall wort and a momentary switch.

At the end of the day we fire a macro that dumps all cues and submasters then sends a shut down command.

Technical Details

  • 24 DC operation (you can use 9-24 DC volts, but lower voltage results in weaker/slower operation)
  • Push or pull type with 10 mm throw
  • Coil resistance: 43 ohms
  • 15 Newton starting force (24VDC / 50% duty cycle)
  • 5.1 oz / 144 grams
