EOS Family Suggestion/Inquiry

Hello -

I am new here, and I recently had an idea and wasn't sure if it was possible or if it has been presented before.

Is it possible to put actual virtual encoders, for use in ML control within the EOS software so it can be used on consoles that don't have physical encoders? For example - Nomad Puck and Element.

  • Hi Jonathan,

There is a virtual P/T encoder. In the screen shot attached you can see the first several encoders for a VL 3000. In software, there is a right arrow to scroll to the right to access all the other functions available in the light. If you are looking for a virtual circular encoder like the ones on the console, that does not exist. I assume this is because working in a circular fashion with a mouse, or even a touch screen requires a precision/granularity that isn't available via those input methods. I've found the X/Y grid pretty easy to use and if I need super precision, the X/Y gets me close and then I can just tap the linear encoders to get me where I need to be.
