Group Lock

How about a way to lock the command line to group instead of channel?

This was something that was avaible on the Expression series and is really missed by my fellow electricians and LDs. Once Group was pressed, then th group string could be entered without having to press Group for everytime.

Cureently on EOS:

 Group 1 thru 10 + Group 20 + Group 22 + Group 30 + Group 32  + Group 40 + Group 42 + Group 51 thru 60 @50%

If  Group Lock was enabled:

Group 1 thru 10 + 20 + 22 + 30 + 32  +  40 +  42 + 51 thru 60 @50%

Maybe holding down the [shift] key and pressing [Group] could be a toggle between locking and unlocking this feature?

Love to hear your feeback.

Thanks!

  • On EOS, typing Group x Group y posts a command line of "Group x + Group y", so you do not have to type the +. This already saves you one keystroke per group.

The problem with your second command line example is that it is not obvious that the numbers refer to groups, so there would be confusion about group numbers vs. channel numbers on the command line.

  • Thanks for the response, Todd. Your input has helped and you're right! It's all about saving that extra key stroke and what you've stated is what we're looking for.

I also see your point about the possibility of confusion between group and channel with that second command line I posted. It makes sense.

    Thanks again!
