Update Preserve Parts Softkey

When updating a cue where specific channels are recorded into cue parts, a softkey that will preserve the parts that the channels are in. So for example, say I have 5 lights that I want to fade up in a specific way so I record each fixture into it's own part with timings and such. Now I want those same 5 to fade back out, I currently have to update each part individually. Using update preserve parts would allow me to take those 5 lights out and update the cue keeping the five fixtures in the correct part.

  • uhm, i don't know what i'm doing differently, but that already works for me. just by using Update Enter (not a syntax using Part). i'm in 2.5.1
  • I have just had a bit of experimentation and see that the problem I have is to do with how the desk alters cues for tracking. Essentially I had a cue (Cue 1) that takes Ch 1 thru 5 @ full in a step fashion (Ch 1 in Part 1, Ch 2 in Part 2 ect). I then wanted to fade them back out in the same order so copied the cue, so Cue 1 copy to Cue 2, however, because the channels are already on, the desk treats it as tracking and forgets where the channels were recorded to, so when I update the channels to be out they are all put into Part 1. Im in 2.5.0, about to update to 2.5.1.
