When changing something in the master show, it would be changed in all shows, that are assigned to the master show. For example, you would have to repatch a device only once.

Im pretty sure that would need some external server, which would process said updates... Pretty much effort for such a little achievement as to not having to merge a patch.... Plus you need to be EXTREMELY organised in pallets etc., since they would also update cross shows if assigned to the master show...
If its for you just for patch, then there is a great workaround: save a show file that only contains patch. Then merge from there in your actual show file. its just like three or five clicks more....
I am pretty sure you wouldn't need an external server. On our upperstage machinery we are using a Unican system, which uses this kind of system. You can automatically update a big amount of shows at once, which can be very useful. Of course you have to be organized, but its a very powerful and handy tool!
