Global Setup + Library

Hey,

i would love to have a Global Setup... for every show i have to set up the whole console new, each timestandard, view things, the print options and so on..  that takes a lot of time

also the patch .. every time i need to set up new librarys for our devices

verry helpful would be to have a import fuction that offers me the optionexactly the part of the esf-document that i want to use from previous shows

  • You can already bring parts of old shows into your current show in both Eos and Congo.
    - Make a backup of your current show first in case you accidentally import more than intended!

    The feature is found in the Browser under File:

    • Congo calls this "Import"
    • Eos calls this "Merge"

    In both cases you can choose which section to bring into the current show.

    The majority of settings are stored in the showfile itself, so you can easily have a 'master' show that has your custom devices and show settings ready for import/merging.

    ok that was my fault, but first im using the ION and i don't see a merge function the problem is:

    everytime I'm running a new show there are some new parts that come step by step so I need to creat the new device or patch or effect in both shows.

    so if we got a new Strobe i'm changing every showfile it is in...

    when i'm open the showfile i can select some parts but i can't bring them to my current show..so i'm missing a "merge" function on my ION that would be that what i'm looking for

    same problem:

    a new show, 70 % finished, end of the day i'm going home sit on my computer, plan a fixture for a LED-Multipart-device. so how can i get the librarydevice into my show, without copy it step by step

    Hi Chrizzie,

     

    There is a Merge option on Ion. It is found in the Browser under 'File'. Choose this option then choose the file that you need to merge specific items from. You will then be prompted to choose the sections you want to merge. In some cases you can use the 'Advanced' option to narrow the selection down further.

    With regard to custom fixtures specifically, you can Merge the 'Fixtures' section, which will bring in any previously created custom fixtures from the source file.

     

    Which version of software are you currently running? Merge was not present in earlier versions of software. The latest version is 1.9.1.
