Motorized faders on consoles, and universal faders

Jumping around between pages (or switching between channels/subs/mems, console dependent) it would be nice if the faders homed to their last position (or current values if active in the cues?). Motorized faders are becoming more and more common. And it would be sexy as heck (not that the consoles aren't already attractive...).

It would be nice if you could also easily make some fader's contents global on all pages without re-recording on all pages one by one... Maybe this feature's already in there and I just haven't run across it yet?

I also can't find the Espresso button on my console. Is it a soft key, or is it coming with the new key cap kits?

  • The Eos does have 10 motorized faders that can be configured as Submasters, Cue List Playback, or a Grandmaster. There are 30 pages, so up to 300 different fader options.

The motorized part is awesome because as you page though your submasters the faders will hop to their respective levels. They are not just for sound boards any more!

  • Ah, Eos. Someday, I promise me, someday... if I'm good.

But until then: I was hoping for flying faders on Ion wings, maybe a row of them (or more?) on the Element, and possibly even some on a next-generation SFML?

If relatively inexpensive USB MIDI consoles such as this - http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/BCF2000.aspx can get them, why not for the more down-to-earth LX consoles? Even if the enhanced wings/consoles were sold at a premium rate, I'm certain they'd be popular. I can vouch for at least one unit. Fire up that there production line, please!

  • I second the motorized fader for the 2x10 or 2x20 fader wings. Even on a SFML, it would really help, instead of going through the Sel/More buttons to change something really quick with the wheels.
