Insight Compatible Monitors

I came into a theatre and the monitor for their Insight (version 1) isn't working.

I've tried various tv and crt monitors none of which work. The CRT monitors require a different scanning frequency than the board outputs and image flickers on the tv.  The board only has BNC or DB9 connectors.

Is there a list out there of Insight compatible monitors?

Does anyone know where I can get an Insight 1 compatible monitor?

  • You need a CGA monitor.  It has a DB9 connector on it.  These haven't been made for many years.  It is what came before the VGA.  You should check on eBay or if you have an old fashioned used computer/electronics store in your area, try them.  I suggest, as big of a pain as it is, to bring your console with you to test out the monitor before you buy it.  Best to make sure it works.  Good luck.
