2 Hog 4 PC - Tracking Back-up + 1 Nano

Have a customer wanting to control 2 Hog PCs with dedicated DMX widgets to act as a tracking back-up system. They have a DMX switch to toggle between the 2 widgets in a failure.

I would assume this is possible and fairly basic using on settings described in the Hog 4 manual. Network both PCs, set both PCs to run server, launch same show on both machines.

Now for the second part of the scenario. Customer would like to control both computers with 1 Nano Hog control surface. To my knowledge this is not possible given the limitations of USB, but I would appreciate confirmation of this. I know the Nano Hog only has 1 USB input, but it does have two other USB connections. Anybody want to confirm my suspicions that this is not possible?

Thanks.

  • Would that work for running both systems simultaneously? My experience with KVM switches is that you are switching back and for between two computers, not outputting keyboard/mouse commands simultaneously to do devices.

I think the issue here is if 2 Hog PCs can be controlled by 1 control surface. In doing some initial research it seems hard to find a solution that will let you send USB commands to multiple computers at the same time. Just checking to see if someone had found a way around that.

    Thanks.
