EFX Stop

I Just Finished quite a large arena event with tons of updates changes and EFX, but here is a question,
When I want an effect to stop by putting it in the focus I want (by) grabbing the lights + the position then clear, the effect will keep running ? unless I record STATE ? is there a better quicker way?
Next one , if I have 2 consoles on the network why won't the clocks synk >

  • I always build 4 Effects templates. Effect 101 - Int Efx "OFF" / Effect 102 - Pos Efx "OFF" / Effect 103 - Color Efx "OFF" / Effect 104 - Beam Efx "OFF"....

    That way I can always select fixtures, "Effect 101" and then a position palette. Then I can merge in (and be sure to mask in "EFFECTS" to make sure it takes it). I haven't tried using that sequence with "Update" - In "theory" it should work because I've put it in the programmer, but again, my keystroke flow is so engrained, I haven't tried changing my flow.
