Cannot suck fixtures

Hello all,

I have encountered a problem, I am not sure if this is due to the 3.8.0 software update. I seem to have trouble using the suck feature on random fixtures. Some it works fine, others it has no effect. This has nothing to do with fixture type because it both works and doesn't on some of the same fixtures in my show file. I have also found that whatever fixtures I cannot suck, if I try to adjust any of their values with the knobs, they instantly reset to their default value. Ex. If I barely tap the pan/tilt knob, it instantly resets to 0. This makes it incredibly difficult to program with as the only way around this is to open the cue I am trying to suck values from, write down the values, and re-enter them in.

I am running on a full sized Hog 4.

Thanks,

-J

  • Hi Joe, You may try merging your show into a new show. Make a backup copy of the current show.
Open a new show. Open the Shows windows. Press the MERGE SHOW button, and follow the prompts.
When asked for a Source Location, select the backup copy of the current show and follow the prompts.
Select all of the fixtures and merge them, along with the palettes and cuelists etc. Just follow the prompts and merge it all in. Try this show and see if it works any better.

    If the above doesn't help,
Are there any custom fixtures created in the fixture builder?
Is there a problem every time you use Suck, or is it intermittent?

Suck doesn't bring in Default values. Meaning if the cue doesn't have gobo information included, it will not suck any gobo info into the Programmer. If a fixture is at 0% Intensity, it will not bring it in.
