Bug - 4.2.1 b3764 still fails to backup when HPU is networked with console.

Fresh install of 4.2.1 b3764 on:

HPU, Full Boar, Hog PC (Asus ZenBook Pro Duo i9)

New show created offline on Hog PC. Added fixtures (NO User Custom Fix), Patched, Groups.

Load show on HPU on show site. About 50 universes, SACN.

Connect to show with Full Boar. Connects as expected. Create More Groups. 

Attempt to Backup show to Full Boar. Show backup Fails.

 

Save a backup "201" on  HPU and reopen and now fails on HPU (primary server) as well.

Attempt to open "201" HPU backup on Full Boar. Fails with a new error.

This is exactly the same as the Bug I reported in August with 4.1 and 4.2, but the August session had a Hog PC as the Primary server and no HPU. In both cases, show was patched offline in Hog Pc in v4.x.x.

In both cases, I am forced to downgrade onsite to 3.21 and Repatch 400 fixtures. (3 consoles, 3 DPs, Laptops, HPU). Very frustrating, especially since this is now a known issue for months and there isn't a warning on the release notes that this is a potential issue. I literally tested this before I recorded a single cue since this bit me very hard last time I tried v4 with networked consoles. 

I've told several LDs to hold off on v4 if they are networking consoles until this is figured out.

    Any word on this? Getting concerned that it's 100% repeatable for me, been trying to figure this out since August, and still not logged as a bug that I can see. 

    Is it me? I'd really like to use v4 software but continually having to downgrade since I can't save my show.

    Ned, Hog4 has NEVER supported backing up on a secondary console. Only the console where the show was started can you expect it to work. All versions going back to 1.0 in 2012 suffer this limitation. The backup button should be greyed out on those other consoles. It became more obvious to the user community a couple of years back once we started validating the backups. For years you'd get a success dialog but you were only saving partial data from your show - never the full show - on secondary consoles.

    Downgrading won't help you. Only backup on the console that started the show. This is ticket 9436
