Command Keys assignment

I'm finally moving to hog4 after years and years on hog3. The command keys are great, but I can't be the first one to think that the way to assign them is so convoluted. So many extra steps just to make a flash button. Please tell me there are plans to rethink how they work.

    I agree we should be able to record directly to a command key. I'd like to see an option to choose whether this records as a list or a scene.
    I'd also like to be able to change the default action of the command key. I invariably change most of mine to flash, so it would be quicker for me to have that as default and change the rest to whatever.
