Cue Trigger Button Options

I have a client for a tradeshow looking to have the ability to have a button in the middle of an exhibit that they can hit that will make the lights strobe and have a audio cue triggered. What is my best way of doing this?

My initial thought is that I make a list on a new fader that has a handful of cues in it that create the lighting effect. There are 2 parts to my question beyond that.

1) What is the best way to trigger the cues via a midi device or what and how would be a good way to set that up?

2) What is the best way to have that trigger some type of audio cue externally?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Matt

  • I would use something like this that will take a contact closure (from the button) to trigger a MIDI note. You can then assign that midi note to trigger your list.

You could then use something like this that will take Midi and run the trigger.
