pressed master play and an entire new show file opened dont know how to go back

I'm relatively new to using road hog consoles so bear with me

my venue has a roadhog 4 21 setup for busking. I was messing around on it and pressed the big play button in the bottom left-hand corner and all the master faders and virtual wings changed to a different show. this is is a cool feature but I don't know how to go back to the busking show.

all the que lists and all that jazz is there but all the faders are different. Already tried a reboot without saving and it came back as the weird show file

  • Without knowing the show file, my guess is that when you pressed the Main Go button, you triggered a cue on your Chosen Master that had a comment macro that changed the page.

You can use the Next Page button on the left of your console to scroll between the various pages.

  • I tried pressing that button a couple times it just progresses further into whatever page its programmed to do.

the board has had 3 different LDs on it and its a mess to figure out.

Im gonna head into the venue soon if you're available to call or if can point me in the right direction

  • Depending on how they programmed, there could be many pages.  You can double tap the Page key to open the entire Page Directory so you can see all the pages within the show.

If the Guard button in the Page Directory is disabled (so it is grey) you can tap on a page in the Page Directory to jump to that page as well.

  • just tried that. only three pages in the page directory. is it possible that since the last programmer didn't save the busking page in the directory that its completely gone?

  • Pages are always recorded, and Hog is always saving.

Potentially when you changed Pages, the active playbacks released and when you go back they look different. To see if maybe this is the case, click Setup > Preferences > Misc and look at the Page Change Option. If it is set to "Release All" (which is the default), this could be the case. If it is set to "Holdover if Active" or "Leave in Background", this wouldn't be the case.

  • The Page change action was set to "Holdover if active"

does hog automatically back up? If so can I go back into the files and recall a backup prior to when i changed pages

  • Hog is always saving, but to go back to a certain point in time, you would have had to create a backup at that time.  To see backups on the console, you can press Setup > Shows > File Browser. To open a backup, you would need to log out of the show and open the backup from Hog Start

  • there is no show file backup.

theres no way to go back to the original page?

  • I think what happened is that due to "Holdover if Active" being your Page Change Option, is that masters from other pages had carried over onto whatever page you were on when you hit the Main Go button. The Main Go button may have been mapped to do something that released the active masters, putting you back to what is normally mapped on your page, and that is why you cannot find exactly what all was on the page you had at the time of you hitting the Main Go button.

If you knew the playbacks that were on the page at the time you hit the Main Go button, and sent that info along with a backup of your show file to HESservice@highend.com, we could possibly reconstruct what was up on that page.

  • I found an older show file that is similar to what we had. I should be able to rebuild from that

in the event that I cant ill send the show file to you guys. Thank you for replying quick and being so helpful!
