An existing large venue with multiple stages and spaces is running FB4 and RH4, operated by various LDs and programmers. They’re accustomed to organizing show files within nested subdirectories (for example, folders within folders named by production year, show version, LD name, etc.).
However, the V5 software enforces a “flat folder” structure, requiring all show files to be stored in a single root directory.
When attempting to open a show file from a nested folder, the system displays the following error:
“Launching show files from sub-directories is not supported in this software version. Please move show files you wish to launch into the root shows folder and try again.”
This limitation is quite frustrating, particularly in busy production environments where multi-level folder organization is crucial for efficient file management.
Any plans to change this back to normal? Understanding this might have something to do with longer file paths, non-latin characters, etc.
