I'm trying to connect an old analogue CD80 dimmer pack to my MicroVision FX for a show in a converted garage. The manual says it's possible to convert the 4pin output to do this and I have the capability to solder the right connections. What do I do? Anyone have suggestions for resources on this?
From the mind of Mr. David North:
Depending on when the CD-80 was made, it might use a 4-pin XLR, in which case the cable is 1-1. However, if it is an older CD-80 pack, with a TA4, then you need the following:
XLR Pin
TA4 Pin
Signal
Belden 9723
Belden 9156
4
1
Clock -
Green
Black
2
3
Clock+
White
Common
Analog

But if your CD-80 pack is analog, as in 0-10vdc, then you need an analog output card [36-pin Centronics on rear panel]
As an FYI, ETC also offers a 4-pin AMX XLR upgrade for the MicoVision FX. You can contact your local dealer for pricing. (Part # 4030K4005)
The upgrade needs to be done at ETC
