Express 24/48 software not updating

Our Express 24/48 is still running software version 1.02. I have e2.bin on the root directory of a freshly formatted floppy but the readme suggestion to turn the console off and then turn it back on for installation isn't proving successful. Any tips?

1.02 is just the boot version. Check in the Setup screen when it is fully up and running - that should tell you the real version of software.
