Network Configuration Editor

We've recently acquired an Obsession II with Dual processors.  I've purchased some used DMX nodes.  One of the nodes works fine, but the other two do not appear to have valid IP addresses.  I'm trying to use the Network Configuration Editor to work with these, but the Network Address Server will not start.  I've setup the IP, Mask and gateway addresses according to the NCE manual, but every time I toggle the NAS, I get 'bootp server stopped'.  The only devices on the network are the two obsession II processors, the Obsession II facepanel, and the PC (set to 10.101.1.101).

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong that is preventing the NAS from launching the bootp server?

  • If you are using a Windows 7 or above computer, be sure that your firewall is off and that your default gateway is set to 10.101.1.1.

Windows 7+ is smart enough to know that a default gateway set the same as the IP address means that there is no default gateway.

Also, be sure to run NICPicker as Administrator after setting your network address before relaunching NCE.
