Hello all,
What do I need to do to setup my Expression 3 to Output DMX on a NET2 DMX node?
In other words, can I just have it pluged into the back of the Console via cat5 cable?
Thnx

You will need to back your net2 node down to net 1. Note that this will only give you the mirrored outputs of the console. There is a floppy disk inside your Expression. I forget the label but it is not the blank one or the one with the expression software version on it. Power off the console. Insert disk. Connect Node. Turn console on. The utility will discover the node and down grade it. Once this is done, Power off desk. Remove disk and you should be good to go.
There is more info here on the wiki.

Ok so where can the disk be found? In the Console?!?!??
To be clear. Emphasis with Expression had four universes. Expression alone had three.
The network disk can be located if you loosen the nobs at either side of the desk. Lift the face panel, panel up. and there will be a black plastic box inside. Inside the box are the software disk. Otherwise you will have to download from the website at this link

So it needs to be the Console software that I am inserting, correct?
There should be - somewhere, a disk that the console boots from and that "finds" the node. You then get a configuration screen that is easy to follow.
If you don't have the RVI config boot disk, re-post and ask to find the download. It's buried here somewhere on the ETC site.
