hog 1000 LCD

Hello, we have seen the corners get black on some units. This may be due to heat or condensation or other reason. The only solution is replacing the displays.

I have a hog 1000 at the shop where all the displays, except for the Main LCD is almost all teh way black, you only see light out of a few areas. I think condensation builds up between teh backlight and the LCD and builds mold or other gunk. I'm tempted to take one of the LCD's to an LCD repair shop here in town and see if they can tell me whats going on. They specialize in dissasembling and repairing LCD displays.

do you really want to trust your lighting console to a local lcd guy. I would check and see if he is an authorized repair guy with HES. He might be great and i could just be paranoid who knows.

It is a large company that specialized in LCD repairs. They hold the contract for many computer manufacturers, including dell and HP. They have a large clean room in which they do all the assembly and dissasembly. Its not a joe blow company.

what about your LCD`s?
Are they well repaired (from the large LCD repair company),
or isn`t it possible to do a repair?
I just want to know, because i have a little bit of time now, and try to open my console an have a closer look on the LCD`s.

I havent had time to go by there and talk to them. I had to do a keyboard repair on a console, and took a close look at the LCD's. Its a lot of work to get down to them. Repairing them is definatly something you cannot do yourself. It looks like there is mold or something between the backlight and the lcd display. I'll try to post pics today of what a display board looks like removed from the console.
