Conventional lights flashing

Hey guys,

I'm pretty much a newbie running Hog 2. I've got a set of intelligents and conventional lights running through 2 Colortran ENR dimmer packs. My problem is that I get random flashing with my conventional lights in any scene - the intels seem unaffected. Has anyone run into anything similar? Thanks for your help!

Do you have proper splitters and termination?
I've also managed to create flashing with open end DMX line -> long DMX and nothing at the end.

Everything is split properly, and I believe terminated as well, but I will double check.

Make sure your rack is setup for DMX, and not CMX.

I believe the ENR packs default to Colortran's proprietary CMX protocol. CMX is very similar to DMX, so sometimes a mis-configured input will partially work, but with symptoms similar to what you describe.

Thanks guys. I've learned that I may have an unterminated DMX line, so I'll take care of that. I checked the DMX/CMX issue, and it's set correctly. I'm also going to try hooking it up to another console, and see what I get. Thanks for all the great feedback - I'll let you know what I find!

It is strongly recommended not to run intel's off of dimmers unless you are running them off of a relay or a non dim.

Only the conventionals are run off the dimmers.
