Need help with hog 600 library!

Our high school theatre recently purchased a used Hog 600 as an auxiliary lighting controller for conventional instruments, and to potentially control our intelligent lighting, scrollers, etc. We have a Strand console, and this Hog is completely foreign to me.

It did not come with a library disk, and although I've tried to create one, the board is not reading it. I'm sure there needs to be some file or something on this disk other than the libraries that I found online in order to get the Hog 600 to read it, but I'm not sure how to find it, what to name it on the disk, or anything. I am a technological moron. If someone could give me some advice, at least on creating a library disk solely for our conventional lighting, it would give me a pace to start to play around with it. Any advice would be appreciated. Feel free to contact me at twegner@kimberly.k12.wi.us. Thank you!

  • Hi Todd,

I am assuming you mean the Hog 500. If so check out the links below to help out with adding new libraries to the Hog 500.

This is a link to our Legacy Products Library Page:

    www.flyingpig.com/support/hog2/downloads/Wholehog2Libraries.shtml

Follow these directions to load a new fixture library into an existing show file..

    www.flyingpig.com/support/addingHog2libraries.pdf

And also check out this Quick Start Guide. Although this is for the Wholehog II the programming syntax and software are the same, so a lot of what is in the quickstart guide will be helpful.

    Hope this helps.
