Full Install
So here's a general question. I know originally the FPSPKG was for software upgrade only, and the Iso image was to do a full install, which also resulted in wiping out all the shows.
My memory is that part of the BIOS 17 implementation was a partitioning of the hard disk so that the full install would not always wipe out all the show files.
So, is my memory incorrect? Did things get changed so a full install also wipes out the data on the second partition? what's really going on with the HDD and the full install?

A Full install still completely wipes the drive, but you can do an Upgrade install from the Bios menu that will leave the showfiles intact.

ok... so is the drive in 1 or 2 partitions? If 2 partitions, why?

It is split into two partitions. This allows for doing the Upgrade recovery from the Bios menu without wiping the shows partition. Doing a Full upgrade will wipe the shows partition along with the O/S partition.
