This is,or should be a RAID

How about it? As myself and others who have had to replace our hard drives after they have failed can attest, there's plenty of room inside the console for a RAID, the second drive could probably fit right on top of the drive I had to replace. (Warning-expiration date of the drives is about 2.5 years, as in check your console's birthday and perform a preemptive hard drive replacement or you'll be sorry...) A little hard drive redundancy would keep others from hearing this: "Hey man, hard drives fail, what can I tell ya?" I know that the hard drive is working very hard all the time, all the more reason to have a second drive.
Just a thought,

  • Our Hog III has been in a permanent installation for 3 years. Everything has been running fine with no issues. Today, during the first service, a pop-up came up of "FILE ERROR" with an OK button. This all happened while just running cues for the regular service. There was no editting of the cue stack going on at all. Hit OK, and the error came right back. The error would not go away. I tried to do a show backup onto a zip, still kept getting "FILE ERROR" and then "Backup Failure."

Tried to restart the console but it would not load past the Hog III logo screens. Burned a complete ISO of 988 and tried to do a full install. The console tries to load it, but, again, does not get past the Hog III logos. Console sat for 25 minutes while trying to do the Full Install to no avail.
Tried a complete ISO one more time and it finally took. I loaded a backup of the show and finally got it up and running.

Is this a sign that I need to replace my harddrive?
