Wholehog 3 wireless connection

We've got Wholehog 3 with ethernet connection with DMX processor.
Now we've got a necessaty to connect its through an air, because where is no possibility to use a cable (a water stage). The distance is 100 meters. We use linksys wireless bridges (802.1 b&g) and directed antenas. It works well until you connect Wholehog 3. Ping increase from 1 ms till 1500-3000 ms.
How to solve this problem? Is it possible to use wireless bridges in this system?

  • What are you pinging? You obviously have more on the network than just the two DPs and the console if you can ping. Are you using the network for anything else?

Also, a large ping time may not necessarily mean things are working improperly. When busy, some devices may delay response to ping. Does the Hog 3 work ok despite the slow ping?

We generally suggest you avoid using Hog 3 over wireless for show-critical applications. Generically speaking, if you can get power to the DP's, you can get Ethernet to them as well. I'm curious as to what about your setup keeps you from using wired Ethernet but allows you to power the DPs.
