Martin Show Designer<>HOG3 connecion issue

Hi guys,

There seems to be an issue trying to connect HOG3/HOG3 PC to MSD (in my case, on the same PC).

The HOG III Connectivity application will not initiate, unless:
1. MSD is configured with the HOG3 PC driver.
2. Needs to restart your PC.
3. Launch MSD Offline (for example).
4. Launch HOG3 PC.

HOG III Connectivity application is now able to connect to MSD, but:
1. Random DMX values are being transmitted all the time to MSD, causing Pan/Tilt (and other attributes) to randomly changes their position..
2. If any other MSD module is opened, you get an 'Application needs to be closed' error message.

This issue has been discussed for a while now on the MSD forum:
www.martin.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12742

Some tests has been made by the MSD team at Lighthouse Holland, and it seems the problem is with the HOG III Connectivity application. The relevant persons had been notified by Lighthouse, with no reply yet (as far as I know).

Are you guys aware of this problem? Is there a solution in a process?

Thanks in advance,

  • Hi Brad,

My connections and firewall are all intact, since I can establish a connection, even if it does not work perfectly. My HOG II PC runs without a problem, as well as other Offline consoles on my PC.

The MSD forum thread on my initial post suggest that the problem occure on various machines for other users as well. BTW is there a DMX output window that shows a grid of on a universe/channel basis, showing every DMX channel, so I can also see lower 16 bit channels?

I will try using the Email option to discuss this matter further with you.

    Best Regards,
