quitting effects

HI folks:

Ive been running the youth show and have a break - -how do i get out of the effects engine if im running it live, instead of in cues and stuff, i was hitting some effects live in the show and couldnt get out except with a clear -- is there a better way?

    This is a great tip. As a sorta newbie as well I had the hardest time figuring out how to stop an effect so I could on to the next cue. Was the most frustrating thing to have a cue with an effect, think I've got it stopped and then go on to the next cue and have it still be there (this was also before I truly understood tracking). Thanks guys!
