Hog iPC bugging out badly

Hello,
I had a major issue with the iPC last night. I was running lights and the first two bands who came up I had no issues with. Right as Colby Caillat came on stage, the console started bugging out badly. My cue lists started disappearing, the palattes started showing randomly created new pallates, half the buttons stopped working properly, and the lights wouldn't respond to the console unless I punched it in manually (like, fixture 1 thru 8 @ full).

At that point, I ended up pulling the DMX line so the stage would at least remain lit as the console kept clearing itself out as well.

Does anyone have any idea as to what would cause this to happen?

Thanks,
Matt

  • The screens aren't embedded in the iPC. They are two external 12.1 inch ELO touch screens.

I realized after the show that it might be the keyboard, myself. I kicked myself that I didn't try the console without it. At that point, it mattered more that I had light on the stage without risking blacking out and not getting everything back. I just dismissed the idea assuming that it couldn't be the keyboard as it had just been working.

There were two-way radios everywhere between Cityplace Maintenance, Security, and Management. All on different frequencies. Radio interference is also another possibility.

To add on to this thread with another question, do you know why the smaller 12" Elo screens tend to lose their calibration within a few hours of use? This is why I hooked up the keyboard as I couldn't type using the screen any longer.

    Thanks,
    Matt
