Park options

I mentioned this to Tom last night, but I wanted to officially throw it on the table and see where things fall...

Until I get keystroke macros, I would like to have a COMMENT macro for Parking and Unparking the contents of a Scene or Cuelist.

Let me give you an example.

We have Sensor racks everywhere. We have installed Relay-20's from ETC for circuits for movers (no, its NOT a dimmer). In order for these to work, they have to have signal on. Currently, I have a Fleenor Preset10 merging on universe in order to hold the signal high no matter what happens.

Yes, I know I can just do "Group X at Full More Park" and "Group X at full more PIG+Park". However, I deal with a LOT of volunteers and don't feel comfortable having them park and unpark things. It would be much easier to run be able to run a scene or cuelist that turns on the relays and then parks them. At then end of the night, run a list that douses, waits to cool and then unparks the relays.

That is...until we get Keystroke Macros.

What does everyone think?

  • I could see that being very useful. Especially in conjunction with the Scheduling functions added in v2.3.

The last few months I have become a fan of using scenes as an alternative to park, partly for that reason. Plus I have been burned by PIG+Park in previous software versions so I like to avoid it when I can. Comment macros would also be a good alternative, as well.
