In many situations LD takes care of the balance on conventionals, usually front and sidelights. Nice way to take care of this is to give him a playback wing (when he is sitting in audience). Of course one possibility is to give a wireless HogPC client with wing. Though sometimes just a few faders would be enough and keeps things simple.
