art net box

With the upcoming 3.0 software...you will be able to use ANY ArtNet to DMX box you like....you are not limited to DP-2000 in ArtNet mode.

Wil a full H3 desk you will need a DP-8000 to get ArtNet ouput.

Not for DP-2000s....you will have to select what "mode" the DP-2K is in...either ArtNet or HogNet....DP-2K will not be able to do both simultaneously.....unlike DP-8000 which will (via different network ports....just like the FB).

HogNet and ArtNet are separate networks and should not be mixed on the same cables, swtiches, etc......

That will depend entirely on your unique situation. The beautiful thing is that you will now have all those options and can use whatever one works best for you.:147:

The dp 2000 can be set up as Artnet. OK
So he became justa regular Artnet to DMX node.
He does not talk to the console anymore ?
Or my Hog 3 PC will speak Artnet to the box ? and not HogNet anymore ?

That is a good question. Can you output, via Hog3PC, ArtNet? Or do you have to get a DP 8000 to output ArtNet using Hog3PC?

The DP2000 does still communicate with all Hog OS products like it always has. With v3 and later you can now switch "modes" on the DP from its standard operating mode to ArtNet mode. In ArtNet mode you can run Artnet into the RJ45 port and the DP will then convert ArtNet to DMX. Hog PC does not output ArtNet directly from the computer. You will have to connect to a DP8000 to gain ArtNet functionality.
