You cant use any dmx widgets connected directly to the console. However if you have a new dp8000 you can connect widgets to it.

Yes, the widget will need "mapping". E.G. universe 1 on the widget will correspond to universe 1 on the virtual DP. This can be done in the network pane. Setup >> Network.

The Wholehog 3 console does not do any on-board DMX processing. You need a DMX Processor with this desk. USB Widgets only function on the Windows based desks as they are running a virtual DP to process the DMX and the widget just provides a method to output it.
