Background colors in pallets

I would love to have the option of being able customize the background color of the pallet windows. This would be particularly useful in color pallets as it would give more of a visual look to the pallet. Example red pallets could have a red background. The best would be if it could represent the color chosen automatically.

In other pallets it could also be useful. Beam pallets could easily recognized as which gobo wheel they are controlling. IE. all wheel one would be blue and all wheel 2 red.

Key stroke could be pig+set to change background color.

  • To take that thought a little bit further - wouldn't it be useful if beam palettes could actually display an image of the gobo or effect that they represent?
Customizable, of course, so that you could load a .jpg or .gif of your custom gobo onto a thumbdrive and copy it into the show....
Even for effects like prism and iris, or gobo rotation, having a graphical representation would be a vast improvement (IMHO) over the current text-only labels. Text labels were great in the Hog2 era, but isn't the graphics engine behind Hog3 capable of handling something like this?
Further, wouldn't it be useful for media server programming, if palettes could display thumbnail images of content?
