FB lockup/DMX issue

Had some problems with our Full Boar (v3.0.2) today-

512 desk channels patched to DMX output 1
12 Studio Command 1200 patched to DMX output 3
using the DMX ports on the back of the console (no networking)

First - console locked up when programmer went to move a position pallette from one location to another in the pallette directory. No response from any buttons or keys, but cursor still moved if you touched the touchscreens. Had to hard reboot.

After reboot- had control of fixtures on DMX output 1 but all Studio Commands on output 3 were stuck (no intensity control, pan/tilt at 50/50, etc.) Verified that console was sending these values with DMX window on FB and an external DMX tester. No respose to any changes in programmer for Output 3.

Unpatched and repatched Studio Commands to see if that fixes problem - still no control.

Log off and restart show- have control of everything again.

Is it possible for the internal DMX processor to lock up so that one DMX output is stuck but the others still work? Never seen this before and neither has the programmer.

Thanks

  • Chris,

Just uploaded the dmp files from the console to your attention. I also remember that while I was ringing out the rig before programming, the DP8k process quit and I had no DMX output at all. Had to reboot the console and then everything worked. I think that the dp8k dmp file is from that event.

Just a thought - I have been using incremental updates and haven't re-imaged the console since we bought it. The console's current image is 1.0.4. Should I re-image with the latest version to start with a clean slate?
