We have WholeHog III. The company that installed our lights and computer controlled WH III really did just that. They addressed the light to the PC but did not train any one on how to use or change the way th/at the lights are controlled/addressed, etc. What is the best/easiest way to set up our lights to use them? We basically can turn the par's and house lights on and off. They are not individually controlled. It is either on or off with some fader in between but we can can not turn them on and off individually.
Tricky one... Where are you located? Training may be a good option.
But to get you by for now... Open your patch window [setup] [patch]. Now on the right hand side, the user numbers will be displayed. The first one should be one. Make a note of all the user numbers. Now knowing these you can use the command line. Do you just have pars and no moving lights?
To select user number one and give an intensity of 50% press fixture, then the fixture types toolbar will appear. Press desk channel or press 1 @ 50%.
Now you say they are generally on or off. Best way to do this would be scenes. Set up your lights with the parameters you require. [Record] [Scene] [X] [Enter]. Alternativly, you can have the scene directory open ([open] [scene]) and set up your parameters and press record, then touch the scene you wish to record to.
demand the installer to provide training, at least 1 day. In 1 day you could learn a lot. ( if they refuse, never buy anything from them anymore :angryfire: )
Or find a freelance-operator which you pay for a day training, might be even more cheap than the installing comp.
