MIDI and Pro Tools

I will try to explain this the best i can. I am wanting to find a way to send a signal to the Road Hog from various microphones (i.e. kick, tom 1, tom 2, over head, etc) via MIDI to control lighting. My idea was to let each microphone send a signal to different lights to strobe on the beat. I hope this makes sense... is this possible?

  • Kyle,

I've used the Event Processor to re-map MIDI commands into the HOG.

I was going from a MIDI keyboard controller (MIDI Notes) to MSC System Exclusive Messages into the HOG.

Here's an example of the MSC SYS EX message

I believe you will need a way to generate the MIDI message from the Mic signal?

Maybe the way to do it is with drum triggers into a processor like...

Trigger --> MIDI Processor --> Event processor --> Hog.

    Hope this helps.
