Scenes won't execute, H3PC

Pre-programming for a big NYE show, using lots of Scenes. Been working on it for a few days, everything going fine.
Suddenly, now once I touch a Scene after launching my show, I am unable to run any other Scenes. It executes he very first Scene I touch, then subsequent Scenes do nothing.
Perhaps related, I am unable to release any Scenes either. Now, I'm not sure it works the same way in H3PC as on the real console, I've done little significant programming in H3PC before now, but touching a Scene then Release does nothing. Neither does doing a Pig>Release. Am I correct in assuming Pig>Release should release all Scenes as well as Cuelists?
Going back to an older backup made before the problem began I have the same problem, which I'm afraid may indicate a corrupted show.
On actual consoles when I've had issues like this I've ended up needing to reinstall the XPE image, is there a similar operation for H3PC, or just reinstall the software?
Maybe, hopefully, I just touched a wacky button somewhere and the issue is operator error?
Any help appreciated, load in starts tomorrow!!
  • Sorry, running 3.1.1.
Attempting to execute Scenes by touching them in the Scene Directory, Guard is Off.
  • Hi,
In the options of the scene you are trying to
release select "release on other go".
I have set up shows in the way your describing
and find that recording scene's that always
release to be the least confusing method of
    live playback for me.
So perhaps record a row of colour only scenes,
then beam only scenes and maybe a few position
    only.
    Hope this helps....

    Best Cormac
  • Thanks Cormac, but the way I'm setting this up I will have multiple scenes running concurrently so the release on other go option won't work in this particular instance. Besides, if it were working correctly it should still execute the new scene, "LTP" after all.
Either I've changed some heretofore unknown setting that prevents scenes from releasing, or my show is corrupted. If the latter, what can I do to save it?
  • Have you tried loading a backup of the show, or a earlier version of the show. Sometimes the show files get corrupted and weird things like this happen. This happened to me once, and I loaded a backup file and everything was fine.
  • I thought I mentioned it, but yes I loaded an earlier backup from before the problem began and the problem continued even with the older backup.
  • Update: Now, no Scenes will execute at all, they seem to be totally disabled.
  • It might be worth updating to 3.1.2...

  • I tried that earlier, but in going to the website all H3PC links lead to 3.1.1 still. At least as of 2 hours ago.
  • This link goes to the 3.1.2 download page:

  • Where are you seeing links to 3.1.1? Let me know where they are and I'll have the corrected. You can find links to 3.1.2 for your console at:

    www.flyingpig.com/support/hog3/downloads/

For the scene problem, you should probably contact support. They can look at your showfile and help you figure out what's wrong. You can also post the showfile here if you'd like for others to look at it, but definitely contact support directly.
