An interesting backup situation

First off, I've been away from the forums for way to long.

Anycase I have an interesting backup problem I'd like to throw out there and see what you all come up with :D

"Hypothetically" lets say I have an install of a hog 3 PC outputting through a DP8k and timecode is sourced through a USB widget. The data is then distributed to various locations via pathport.

Now "hypothetically" lets say the talk is to install another PC as a backup incase the first craps out. I might be lucky to get another DP8k, but the chance of another TC widget or midi anything is extremely slim at best.

So aside from begging for another TC widget OR a couple of midi interfaces what ideas do you all have?

Also keep in mind that there isnt always someone to watch the consoles.

    yeah i am sooo excited about the pending 3.2! i have a Midiman MIDISPORT 2x2 Anniversary Edition, would that facilitate a programing and playback tracking solution with 3.1.7 in the following config.... (hog 3 midi out->midi cable->midi in, Midiman MIDISPORT 2x2 Anniversary Edition, usb out->usb cable->usb in,hog3pc)?

    basically could i use this setup www.consoletrainer.com/hogmidi.html , with the aformentioned midi device inline to use playback AND programming tracking so if my master goes down during programing while playback i could just hit the a/b switch and be where i left off both on the programing side and playback side?
