MSC/QLab

I am about to embark on programming an Architectural installation this coming week. I am using my Hog3PC system to accomplish this. This will be running (un-manned) nightly with the Clock triggers (I have both my daily and hourly figured out).

My current dilemma is getting the video triggered from the Hog. I was looking into MSC, but I've never worked with it before, and could use a little help getting started. At this time, the video will be running from Q-Lab and I will need to trigger the video to start from the console.

Here's the QLab Section on remote control:

Set the control panel to MSC Out and the channel ID.

The comment macro space is where the MIDI message goes.

I would setup a MIDI reader (Midi Monitor on Mac) to see what the string needs to be for Qlab.

----Edit: also see this string for more info on the MSC strings. Although they are talking about controlling the Hog with MSC (which you can do with QLab also) it can go the other way into QLab too.
