Timecode LTC problem

Hello to everybody!
i have a situation and i would really could use some help...
i am running a Hog Pc (v3.1.8)O with 2 usb to dmx widgets, 1 programmer, 1 playback and 1 LTC timecode. i am using the LTC to trigger videos on a catalyst V4.
everything used to work just fine(for one week) until the LTC stop responding the way it should... all the timecode format is SMPTE 30 but on my hog screen i see that the input is Film 24. sometimes it come back to smpte 30 working ok or not working ok. in a few (?) words its not stable-locked on the smpte but i cant see the reason why... i did my best on checking everything i could. (all cables changed, the timecode source changed, i even checked it on another Hog3. it still works on Film 24...)
so i am in bad situation. what do you think i can do? i am not able to check an other LTC for the next 2 days. if it is a software/filmware problem can i have any kind of update? if its hardware what it might be?

thanks a lot for your help

  • When your tried your LTC on the other Hog-3 did you use the same widget?
If so, then the first thing would be to try another widget to see if the problem is there.

If that does not fix the problem then it sounds like your timecode source or the cable the LTC comes down is the issue (could be as simple as too much volume/gain). Try hooking up a speaker to the SMPTE line and you should be able to hear if it is too loud or if there is other interference.

    Hope this helps. :)
