A strange problem with my superwidget

Hi all!

So I got a super widget whos got a strange error. It will do everything perfectly until you try to have your moving heads move. The lamps do move, but they do so in a very uneven and "chopping " way. Now, we have tried a lot of different things, we have tried with different computers, different lamps, tried to change the power supply, and all components work perfectly with another widget, but this widget will not comply. I have also tried to open the widget, clean it and check all connections, but no such luck...
So do any of you smart guys have any tips or triks? It would be greatly appreciated! A while back I had some problems with one of my programmingwings, and thru a post in this forum I got a few good tips witch solved the problem, so I,m hoping to do the same again.:)

  • Check the dmx refresh rate of the troubled super-widget while it is sitting there not processing any cues. I am curious if it is spitting out a solid 25HZ.

If you don't have any dmx test equipment you can just check to see if in fixture in your rig have a dmx receive light. If the receive light is blinking, cutting out, or just not looking steady (some tiny amount of flicker is okay) then it might just be a circuit problem on that dmx widget board.
