Trying to use widget with Wholehog

I've not really used any Hog systems too much but I have gone through starting a show, patching fixtures and actually having fixtures in front of me doing stuff.

So now I'm borrowing a Hog widget (as far as I know Hog 2 Widget) and only the Link light is ever on. I've patched several fixtures but I also work for someone who let me borrow two ChromaQ Color Blocks (one PSU) set to RGB mode and patched as generic RGB LED. Nothing happening.

I've downloaded both Hog 2PC and Hog 3PC, Windows 7 (on an Intel Mac) and the software seems to work just fine.

So far looking through documentation hasn't helped and there is a near deadline on figuring this out. Wondering if anyone can help me get in the right direction?

Thanks.

  • If the software starts, you have patched fixtures, and the link LED is lit on the widget, you probably just need to assign the widget to a universe.

    On H3PC:
    - Setup - Network will get you to the Netowrk Status window.
    - Select the DP-8000 and click Settings (wrench icon at bottom)
    - Select Widget Outputs at the bottom.
    - Then select your widget from the dropdown menu on whatever universe you are looking to use with the widget

    On H2PC:
    - Right click on the Front Panel window
    - Select Config
    - Select your widget from the DMX Port dropdown menu

    Hope this helps. :)
