As an update, this Timecode app works great! It's the most expensive app I've bought ($20) but I've found it incredibly useful troubleshooting TC runs. I would never use it in a show situation but it's so great when I'm told "Yep, Timecode is running. You SHOULD be getting it."
I found a free one called TC Toolbox. I haven't had a lot of time to test it that much. If anyone else has, I would love to hear how it has worked for them.
