Connecting DP 8000?

I have never claimed to be a networking genius, and am thoroughly lost.

Can anyone please explain (in detail) how to connect at DP8000 to a laptop running Hog 3PC? Software versions on both are the same.

You will be admired and praised for any help that you can provide!

This is just one way this can be done:

1. Set the laptop to Use Default IP setting, Enable DCHP and Boot Server
2. Set the IP on the DP8K to a static IP of - 172.31.0.10 / netmask - 255.255.0.0
3. Connect the 8K to the Laptop with an ethernet cable
4. Make sure both the Laptop and 8K are set to the same port number
5. Launch and patch your show
